Basement Insulation
Basement spray foam insulation grips the concrete itself, so humid air never touches the cold wall. It keeps the room warmer in winter and stops the damp smell in summer.
View Basement InsulationAttic spray foam insulation is how we keep warm air from rising out of upstairs rooms, by sealing across the attic floor or coating the roof boards from below. It is the quickest way to cut ice dams and cold upstairs bedrooms.
Waterloo Spray Foam Insulation sprays attics in houses of every age across the city. Every attic we spray is covered by our insurance. Each quote shows the foam type, its thickness and the area in square feet, and we probe the foam as it goes on to prove the depth was reached.
We handle attic spray foam insulation in one of two ways, and how you use the attic decides which. For a vented attic that holds no storage, we close every gap in the ceiling from above. Every pot light, wire hole, plumbing stack and the hatch gets sealed, and blown insulation can go on top.
If ductwork or a furnace sits up there, or you want the space for storage, we spray closed cell foam directly onto the roof sheathing from below. That pulls the whole attic into the heated envelope of the house.
An ice dam starts with house heat melting the snow from underneath. Meltwater trickles down, freezes at the cold overhang and pushes back under the shingles. With about five feet of snow falling on Waterloo in a typical year, a leaky attic has plenty to melt.
A good look at the roof after a snowfall tells a lot. Bare patches over the bathroom or above the hall usually mark the leaks, and those spots are where attic spray foam insulation pays off fastest.
Attics in Lakeshore and Lincoln Village homes from the 1960s and 70s often have a few inches of old batts and lots of open gaps around wires. Attics in Clair Hills and Laurelwood homes are newer, but cathedral ceilings and rooms over garages still leave tight spots that batts cannot fill.
Both get attic spray foam insulation, but the plan is different. The free visit is where we sort out which method suits your roof.
Open cell sprayed over an attic floor comes in at $2.50 to $4.50 a square foot. Closed cell sprayed under the roof deck comes in at $3.50 to $7, with roof pitch, access and depth moving the figure.
You can read how the two foam types compare before the visit.
Most attic heat loss happens at a handful of holes, not across the whole ceiling. The attic hatch, recessed pot lights, bath fan housings, plumbing stacks and the top plates of interior walls all let warm, damp air rise into the attic.
Attic spray foam insulation seals each of those openings before anything else goes on. A hatch also gets a foam board lid and weatherstripping, so the easiest leak in the house stops being one.
Damp air in an attic also causes frost on the nails and roof boards in February. When it melts, it drips onto the ceiling and looks like a roof leak. Sealing the attic floor stops that cycle at the source.
A call to (226) 407-7718 or a quick form puts a free attic look on the calendar. Once the attic is measured and the leaks are found, your attic spray foam insulation quote arrives by email. Every other service is listed on the Waterloo Spray Foam Insulation home page.
Pairing two of these in one trip means the rig only sets up once.

Closed cell spray foam sets hard and blocks moisture, while open cell foam is soft and costs less per inch. Putting each in the right place gets the most value from the job.
